Diameter, depth, material, drainage hole. A 12" glazed pot and a 4" terracotta one need genuinely different soil.

Ten components, weighed to your ratio, in a resealable bag with the recipe on the label. Enough to fill your pot, with a little spare.
The pantry

Peat-free compost
The living fraction. Feeds slowly, buffers pH, and keeps soil biology working between waterings.
Pine bark fines
Chunky and slow to break down. Builds long-lasting structure so the mix never compacts into a brick.
Perlite
Volcanic glass, popped like corn. Almost weightless, and the fastest way to open up a heavy mix.
Pumice
Perlite that stays put. Heavier, so it will not float to the surface every time you water.
Horticultural charcoal
Porous carbon that adsorbs impurities. The insurance policy in a pot that cannot drain.
Worm castings
Gentle, complete nutrition that will not burn roots. A little goes a long way.
Coarse sand
Sharp grit for plants that want to dry out fast. Adds weight that keeps tall pots stable.
Sphagnum moss
Holds many times its weight in water. For the plants that sulk the moment they dry out.
Zeolite
A mineral sponge for nutrients — it catches feed on the way past and releases it slowly.

Before you order
How is this different from a bag of potting mix?
A bag of potting mix is one recipe, made to be acceptable for everything and ideal for nothing. It cannot know that your pot is glazed, or 12 inches across, or that you water more than you should. Those three facts alone change what the soil should be.
Do you use peat?
No. Peat bogs take millennia to form and are being stripped faster than they regenerate. Coco coir does the same job — arguably better, since it rewets easily instead of turning hydrophobic — and it is a by-product of a crop that is already grown.
What if my plant is not in the list?
Pick the closest relative. Soil requirements track families closely, so a mix built for one Philodendron will suit another. If you tell us what is missing we will add it.
How much soil do I actually need?
More than most people expect. We calculate it from your pot dimensions as a tapered frustum rather than a cylinder, then subtract room for the root ball, so the number you see is what will genuinely fill the pot.
Can I reuse it?
The mineral fraction — perlite, pumice, sand, zeolite — lasts indefinitely. The organic fraction breaks down over one to two years and compacts. Refresh the top third annually and repot fully every couple of years.
